A mythological tale recounts how Jayant, son of Indra, took the form of a crow to test Lord Ram's power. He attacked Mata Sita, causing her feet to bleed. Enraged, Lord Ram unleashed a Brahmastra upon Jayant. Jayant fled across the three worlds seeking refuge but found none. Ultimately, he returned to Lord Ram, begging for forgiveness. Lord Ram spared his life but directed the Brahmastra's effect to Jayant's right eye, permanently damaging it as punishment.
