The Chhattisgarh High Court has dismissed a petition seeking salary arrears from 1989-94, citing an unexplained delay of over three decades. Justice Bibhu Datta Guru rejected the claim on grounds of delay and laches, stating that petitioners must approach the court with due diligence. The court noted the employee retired in 2002 and died in 2015, with neither he nor his son pursuing the claim effectively. It also questioned the authenticity of a representation submitted in 1996, as no acknowledgement was found.

छत्तीसगढ़ हाई कोर्ट ने 1989-94 के वेतन बकाया की मांग वाली याचिका को तीन दशक से अधिक की अस्पष्ट देरी का हवाला देते हुए खारिज कर दिया है। जस्टिस बिभु दत्ता गुरु ने देरी और उपेक्षा के आधार पर दावा खारिज कर दिया, यह कहते हुए कि याचिकाकर्ताओं को उचित परिश्रम के साथ अदालत का दरवाजा खटखटाना चाहिए। अदालत ने नोट किया कि कर्मचारी 2002 में सेवानिवृत्त हुआ और 2015 में उसकी मृत्यु हो गई, न तो उसने और न ही उसके बेटे ने प्रभावी ढंग से दावे का पीछा किया। इसने 1996 में प्रस्तुत एक प्रतिनिधित्व की प्रामाणिकता पर भी सवाल उठाया, क्योंकि कोई पावती नहीं मिली थी।
