Cabinet Approves ₹2,009 Crore Diwali Bonus For Railway Staff

The Union Cabinet has approved a ₹2,009.61 crore productivity-linked bonus for 1.14 million railway employees, amounting to 78 days' pay. Each eligible non-gazetted employee will receive up to ₹17,951 as a Diwali gift. This bonus recognizes the Indian Railways' performance in freight loading and passenger carriage during the 2025-26 fiscal year. Additionally, the cabinet extended the National Social Assistance Programme for five years with a ₹53,428 crore outlay, aiming to widen social security coverage for vulnerable populations.

केंद्रीय कैबिनेट ने 11.4 लाख रेलवे कर्मचारियों के लिए ₹2,009.61 करोड़ के उत्पादकता-लिंक्ड बोनस को मंजूरी दे दी है, जो 78 दिनों के वेतन के बराबर है। प्रत्येक योग्य गैर-राजपत्रित कर्मचारी को दिवाली उपहार के रूप में ₹17,951 तक मिलेंगे। यह बोनस 2025-26 वित्तीय वर्ष के दौरान माल ढुलाई और यात्री वहन में भारतीय रेलवे के प्रदर्शन को मान्यता देता है। इसके अतिरिक्त, कैबिनेट ने कमजोर आबादी के लिए सामाजिक सुरक्षा कवरेज का विस्तार करने के उद्देश्य से ₹53,428 करोड़ के परिव्यय के साथ राष्ट्रीय सामाजिक सहायता कार्यक्रम को पांच साल के लिए बढ़ा दिया है।
