Kolkata: Probe Launched Into TMC Ex-Councillor's Dhaba For Wetland Encroachment

A state government commission has raided a prominent roadside eatery on Kolkata's EM Bypass, suspected of illegal wetland filling and canal encroachment. The dhaba is reportedly linked to a Trinamool Congress municipal representative. The probe was initiated following a complaint alleging that the eatery was constructed by systematically filling ecologically sensitive wetlands. Investigators estimate approximately four cottahs of wetland were encroached upon, with preliminary findings pointing to irregularities and alleged falsification of land records.
