Gurugram Police Face Action Over Lapses in Handling Unidentified Body

Gurugram Police have initiated departmental proceedings against a sub-inspector and the SHO of Badshahpur police station following an internal inquiry. The inquiry found prima facie lapses in the handling of the unidentified body of Delhi-based realty professional Yuvraj Singh Manchanda. Lapses included delays in uploading body details and failure to inform neighbouring districts and Delhi, hindering identification. Consequently, Manchanda's body was cremated as unclaimed, preventing his family from performing last rites. The Supreme Court has also sought responses from Haryana and Delhi police regarding these procedural failures.

गुरुग्राम पुलिस ने एक उप-निरीक्षक और बादशाहपुर थाने के एसएचओ के खिलाफ विभागीय कार्रवाई शुरू कर दी है। यह कार्रवाई एक आंतरिक जांच के बाद हुई है। जांच में दिल्ली के रियल एस्टेट पेशेवर युवराज सिंह मंचिंदा के अज्ञात शव को संभालने में प्रथम दृष्टया चूक पाई गई। इन चूकों में शव का विवरण अपलोड करने में देरी और पड़ोसी जिलों व दिल्ली को सूचित करने में विफलता शामिल थी, जिससे पहचान में बाधा आई। नतीजतन, मंचिंदा के शव का लावारिस के रूप में अंतिम संस्कार कर दिया गया, जिससे उनके परिवार अंतिम संस्कार नहीं कर सका। सुप्रीम कोर्ट ने भी इन प्रक्रियात्मक विफलताओं के संबंध में हरियाणा और दिल्ली पुलिस से जवाब मांगा है।
