Indian cricket faces a growing challenge with frequent player injuries, impacting team performance during crucial series. A BCCI Center of Excellence report revealed that 32 top male cricketers, including 20 centrally contracted players, required rehabilitation for injuries between April 2025 and March 2026. Soft tissue injuries were the most common, affecting players' mobility. The BCCI has increased the CoE budget to approximately ₹127 crore for FY 2026-27, a rise of ₹35 crore, to address these fitness concerns and improve injury prevention measures.
