National Commission for Women chairperson Vijaya Rahatkar stated that Indian women are leaders, not just participants, proving their capabilities across all sectors. She expressed confidence in the upcoming implementation of the Nari Shakti Vandan Adhiniyam, which aims to increase women's representation in Parliament and state assemblies. Rahatkar highlighted the success of women in Panchayati Raj institutions, where initial doubts about their effectiveness were overcome, leading some states to increase reservation quotas. She believes women will make significant contributions once the new legislation is enacted.
