Child Rape-Murder Convict on Death Row Dies of Heart Attack in Jail

A 37-year-old man sentenced to death for the rape and murder of a 10-year-old girl died of a heart attack in Vadodara Central Jail on Friday. The convict, Vijay Paswan, was lodged in the jail after a sessions court in Bharuch handed him the death penalty earlier this year. Jail officials stated he suffered the attack in his barrack and died after being rushed to the jail hospital. His family has requested an inquiry into the circumstances surrounding his death.

वडोदरा सेंट्रल जेल में शुक्रवार को 37 साल के एक व्यक्ति की दिल का दौरा पड़ने से मौत हो गई। उसे 10 साल की बच्ची के रेप और मर्डर के मामले में मौत की सज़ा सुनाई गई थी। दोषी विजय पासवान को इस साल की शुरुआत में भरूच की एक सेशंस कोर्ट ने मौत की सज़ा सुनाई थी, जिसके बाद उसे जेल में रखा गया था। जेल अधिकारियों ने बताया कि उसे अपने बैरक में दिल का दौरा पड़ा और जेल अस्पताल ले जाने के बाद उसकी मौत हो गई। उसके परिवार ने मौत के कारणों की जांच की मांग की है।
