New York's Plaza Hotel to Close for Four Years for Facade Restoration

Times of India · world

New York City's iconic Plaza Hotel, a landmark since 1907, will close its doors again in January 2027 for a significant restoration project. The 282-room hotel will remain shut for at least four years to meticulously repair and preserve its historic facade. This extensive work is necessary due to recent inspections finding the exterior unsafe, requiring adherence to strict landmark preservation standards. The closure, driven by the scale of the work rather than a city mandate, will be one of the longest in the hotel's modern history.
