Mahindra's electric car sales experienced a significant surge of 111.5% in August compared to the previous year, selling 8,313 units. This growth has propelled Mahindra's market share in the electric vehicle segment to 22.7%. While Tata Motors remains the market leader with 16,042 EVs sold and a 43.8% share, Mahindra's popularity is growing rapidly. The company's SUVs, including the 7-seater XUV 9S, are driving this demand, as it currently offers the only 7-seater electric SUV option.
