Sports Ministry Officials Skip Asian Games to Oversee BRICS Games in Ahmedabad

Top Sports Ministry officials, including Sports Secretary Hari Ranjan Rao, have cancelled their planned trip to the Asian Games in Japan. They will instead focus on overseeing the BRICS Traditional and Indigenous Sports Demonstration Games scheduled for October 12-13 in Ahmedabad. An official denied the decision was due to India's performance in Japan, stating the Secretary needed to monitor preparations. The BRICS Games, involving around 2,000 participants from nine countries, aim to showcase traditional sports and cultural practices.

खेल मंत्रालय के शीर्ष अधिकारी, जिनमें खेल सचिव हरि रंजन राव भी शामिल हैं, जापान में एशियाई खेलों की अपनी नियोजित यात्रा रद्द कर चुके हैं। वे इसके बजाय 12-13 अक्टूबर को अहमदाबाद में होने वाले ब्रिक्स पारंपरिक और स्वदेशी खेल प्रदर्शन खेलों की निगरानी पर ध्यान केंद्रित करेंगे। एक अधिकारी ने इस फैसले को जापान में भारत के प्रदर्शन से जोड़ने से इनकार किया, यह कहते हुए कि सचिव को तैयारियों की निगरानी करने की आवश्यकता थी। लगभग 2,000 प्रतिभागियों वाले नौ देशों के ब्रिक्स खेल, पारंपरिक खेलों और सांस्कृतिक प्रथाओं को प्रदर्शित करने का लक्ष्य रखते हैं।
