Delhi HC Agrees To Hear IYC Plea Seeking Jantar Mantar Protest Permission

The Indian Youth Congress (IYC) has approached the Delhi High Court challenging the Delhi Police's refusal to grant permission for a protest at Jantar Mantar. The IYC workers intend to protest against Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar over alleged irregularities in the Special Intensive Revision of electoral rolls. The court has agreed to hear the plea on Friday, October 9, 2026. If the plea is not listed on Friday, the petitioners can mention the matter again. The protest aims to demand the resignation of the CEC.

इंडियन यूथ कांग्रेस (IYC) ने जंतर मंतर पर विरोध प्रदर्शन की इजाज़त देने से दिल्ली पुलिस के इनकार को दिल्ली हाई कोर्ट में चुनौती दी है। IYC कार्यकर्ता कथित तौर पर मतदाता सूची के विशेष गहन संशोधन में अनियमितताओं को लेकर मुख्य चुनाव आयुक्त ज्ञानेश कुमार के खिलाफ विरोध प्रदर्शन करना चाहते हैं। अदालत ने शुक्रवार, 9 अक्टूबर 2026 को याचिका पर सुनवाई के लिए सहमति दे दी है। यदि शुक्रवार को याचिका सूचीबद्ध नहीं होती है, तो याचिकाकर्ता मामले का फिर से उल्लेख कर सकते हैं। विरोध का उद्देश्य सीईसी के इस्तीफे की मांग करना है।
