Pune Woman Loses ₹2.2 Lakh to Man Posing as Bank Official

Sangvi police in Pune have registered a case against a man from Thane for allegedly defrauding a 44-year-old woman of ₹2.2 lakh. The fraudster, posing as a bank official, promised to help her repay her outstanding car loan. Between March last year and September, he convinced her to transfer money into various accounts, while she continued making her regular EMIs. The woman became suspicious after visiting the bank and discovering the man did not work there and her loan was not foreclosed.
