Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M.K. Stalin launched the 'Thaimaman Thanga Mothiram Thittam' scheme, providing a one-gram gold ring to newborns in government hospitals. The initiative aims to boost public trust in state health services and encourage safe deliveries. Approximately 4.20 lakh babies are born in government hospitals annually in Tamil Nadu. The scheme, with an annual budget of ₹755.83 crore, has prepared 1.28 lakh gold rings for the first phase. Beneficiaries must be permanent residents of Tamil Nadu, and registration via the PICME system is required.

तमिलनाडु के मुख्यमंत्री एम.के. स्टालिन ने 'थाईममन थंगा मोथिरम थित्तम' योजना शुरू की है, जिसके तहत सरकारी अस्पतालों में पैदा होने वाले बच्चों को एक ग्राम की सोने की अंगूठी दी जाएगी। इस पहल का मकसद राज्य की स्वास्थ्य सेवाओं पर जनता का भरोसा बढ़ाना और सुरक्षित प्रसव को बढ़ावा देना है। तमिलनाडु में सरकारी अस्पतालों में सालाना करीब 4.20 लाख बच्चों का जन्म होता है। ₹755.83 करोड़ के सालाना बजट वाली इस योजना के लिए पहले चरण में 1.28 लाख सोने की अंगूठियां तैयार की गई हैं। लाभार्थियों का तमिलनाडु का स्थायी निवासी होना ज़रूरी है और PICME सिस्टम के ज़रिए रजिस्ट्रेशन कराना होगा।
