Bihar Revenue Board Chief Urges Men to Join Fight Against Child Marriage

Bihar Board of Revenue Chairperson Harjot Kaur Bamhrah has called for men to actively participate in combating child marriage and adolescent pregnancy. Speaking at a consultation in Patna, she stressed that social reform efforts cannot be solely led by women. Bamhrah advocated for greater involvement of men, referred to as 'Jeevika Bhaiyas', to work alongside 'Jeevika Didis' in challenging norms that limit girls' education and independence.

बिहार बोर्ड ऑफ रेवेन्यू की चेयरपर्सन हरजोत कौर बम्हराह ने बाल विवाह और किशोर गर्भावस्था से लड़ने में पुरुषों की सक्रिय भागीदारी का आह्वान किया है। पटना में एक परामर्श में बोलते हुए, उन्होंने जोर दिया कि सामाजिक सुधार के प्रयासों का नेतृत्व केवल महिलाएं नहीं कर सकतीं। बम्हराह ने 'जीविका दीदियों' के साथ मिलकर उन मानदंडों को चुनौती देने के लिए पुरुषों, जिन्हें 'जीविका भैय्या' कहा जाता है, की अधिक भागीदारी की वकालत की जो लड़कियों की शिक्षा और स्वतंत्रता को सीमित करते हैं।
