Centre Eyes Four New Airports In West Bengal

The Centre is evaluating the development of four new airports in West Bengal. This includes reviving airstrips at Balurghat and Purulia, and establishing commercial aviation at the IAF bases in Kalaikunda and Hasimara. The Airports Authority of India is preparing a detailed project report to assess the feasibility of airline services. The plan is still in its early stages, with officials considering if it will fall under the UDAN regional connectivity scheme.
