The Benham-Belz House, Reno's oldest known surviving house built in 1868, has been sold for just $1. The condition for the sale was that the historic structure must be moved and preserved. After standing for over 150 years at its original location, the house was relocated in July 2025 to a private site. This move ensures the preservation of a significant piece of Reno's early history, connecting the city's development to its founding builders and families.
