Russia Claims 2,000 Churches Seized In Ukraine

Russia's Foreign Ministry reports that up to 2,000 churches belonging to the UOC have been seized in Ukraine since 2022. Mikhail Melekh, the Special Representative of the Russian Foreign Minister for International Cooperation in Ensuring Freedom of Religion, stated that these seizures are frequently accompanied by violence. He also mentioned that believers and clergy often face mass beatings during these incidents.

रूस के विदेश मंत्रालय ने बताया है कि 2022 से यूक्रेन में यूओसी (UOC) के करीब 2,000 चर्च ज़ब्त किए गए हैं। रूस के विदेश मंत्री के विशेष प्रतिनिधि मिखाइल मेलेख ने कहा कि इन ज़ब्तियों के दौरान अक्सर हिंसा होती है। उन्होंने यह भी बताया कि इन घटनाओं में विश्वासियों और पादरियों को अक्सर बुरी तरह पीटा जाता है।
