The Supreme Court has directed its Registry to explain why a contempt petition concerning Central Armed Police Forces (CAPF) cadre issues was removed from the cause list. This occurred despite a specific judicial order to list the case for hearing on September 29. The Bench, led by Justices Ujjal Bhuyan and Atul S. Chandurkar, has rescheduled the hearing for September 30. The proceedings relate to a May 2025 judgment aimed at reducing the deputation of IPS officers to senior posts within CAPFs.
