TMC, Congress, CPM Demand CEC Resignation, Fresh Bengal Elections

In Kolkata, the Trinamool Congress, Congress, and CPM jointly demanded the resignation of Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar and fresh elections in West Bengal. The call was made at a convention organized by the Bharat Jodo Abhiyaan platform. Trinamool MP Saugata Roy suggested impeaching the CEC, stating a mass movement is needed. The convention also addressed concerns about electoral process reforms and the alleged disenfranchisement of genuine voters, with participants including retired justice Ajay Thipsay and advocate Prashant Bhushan.

कोलकाता में तृणमूल कांग्रेस, कांग्रेस और CPM ने मिलकर मुख्य चुनाव आयुक्त (CEC) ज्ञानेश कुमार के इस्तीफे और पश्चिम बंगाल में नए सिरे से चुनाव कराने की मांग की। यह मांग भारत जोड़ो अभियान मंच द्वारा आयोजित एक सम्मेलन में की गई। तृणमूल सांसद सौगत रॉय ने CEC पर महाभियोग चलाने का सुझाव दिया और कहा कि इसके लिए एक जन आंदोलन की आवश्यकता है। सम्मेलन में चुनावी प्रक्रिया में सुधार और वास्तविक मतदाताओं के कथित मताधिकार छीनने की चिंताओं पर भी चर्चा हुई, जिसमें सेवानिवृत्त न्यायाधीश अजय थिप्से और वकील प्रशांत भूषण जैसे प्रतिभागी शामिल थे।
