Manipur CM Condemns Civilian Killings, Orders Tighter Security

Manipur Chief Minister Y Khemchand Singh has condemned the killing of three civilians by suspected militants in the Imphal East and Kangpokpi districts. The victims were collecting firewood when unidentified gunmen opened fire, injuring three others and leaving three missing. In response, the Chief Minister directed officials to strengthen security in vulnerable areas and chaired a high-level security review meeting. Security forces launched a combing operation with helicopters and drones, while protests erupted in Imphal, leading to police intervention.

मणिपुर के मुख्यमंत्री वाई खेमचंद सिंह ने इम्फाल ईस्ट और कांगपोकपी जिलों में संदिग्ध उग्रवादियों द्वारा तीन नागरिकों की हत्या की निंदा की है। पीड़ित लकड़ी बीन रहे थे जब अज्ञात बंदूकधारियों ने गोलीबारी की, जिसमें तीन अन्य घायल हो गए और तीन लापता हो गए। इसके जवाब में, मुख्यमंत्री ने अधिकारियों को संवेदनशील इलाकों में सुरक्षा कड़ी करने का निर्देश दिया और एक उच्च-स्तरीय सुरक्षा समीक्षा बैठक की अध्यक्षता की। सुरक्षा बलों ने हेलीकॉप्टर और ड्रोन के साथ तलाशी अभियान शुरू किया, जबकि इम्फाल में विरोध प्रदर्शन हुए, जिससे पुलिस को हस्तक्षेप करना पड़ा।
