Thermocol Waste Recycling Unit Becomes Profitable Venture, Earning Rs 17 Lakh Monthly

A thermocol waste recycling unit in Alawalpur panchayat, Patna district, has become a profitable venture, generating Rs 17 lakh in revenue per month. The unit, established by garbage trader Deepak Kumar, recycles thermocol waste into granules under the Lohia Swachchha Bihar Abhiyan and Swachchha Bharat Mission. It produces 40-50 tonnes of granules monthly, sold at Rs 35,000 per tonne, and procures waste from collectors across Patna, Ranchi, and Varanasi. This initiative aims to clear rural areas of environmentally hazardous thermocol waste while creating employment.

पटना जिले के अलावलपुर पंचायत में एक थर्माकोल कचरा रीसाइक्लिंग यूनिट हर महीने 17 लाख रुपये कमाकर एक मुनाफे का सौदा बन गई है। कबाड़ व्यापारी दीपक कुमार द्वारा स्थापित इस यूनिट में लोहिया स्वच्छ बिहार अभियान और स्वच्छ भारत मिशन के तहत थर्माकोल कचरे को रीसायकल करके दाने (granules) बनाए जाते हैं। यह यूनिट हर महीने 40-50 टन दाने बनाती है, जिनकी कीमत 35,000 रुपये प्रति टन है, और यह पटना, रांची और वाराणसी के कचरा संग्राहकों से कचरा खरीदती है। इस पहल का मकसद ग्रामीण इलाकों को पर्यावरण के लिए खतरनाक थर्माकोल कचरे से मुक्त करना और रोजगार पैदा करना है।
