Jamshedpur Launches Special Flower Waste Drive For Durga Puja

Times of India · environment

The Jamshedpur Notified Area Committee (JNAC) has initiated a special drive to collect floral waste from Durga Puja pandals and temples. Ten dedicated vehicles will collect flowers and bel leaves for composting, preventing their disposal in open spaces or water bodies. East Singhbhum DC Rajiv Ranjan flagged off the vehicles, which are now operational. All 87 puja pandals under JNAC's jurisdiction have been GPS-tagged for efficient collection. This eco-friendly initiative aims to ensure cleaner pandals and promote sustainable waste management during the festive season.
