90 Students Face Long Commutes As School Upgrade Proposal Remains Pending

Ninety SSLC students at GHS Veerapur face long commutes to Dharwad or difficulty finding nearby institutions as their school's upgrade to a Pre-University college remains pending. Parents and school committees have repeatedly demanded local PU colleges, citing transportation issues and risks for female students. While proposals were submitted and inspections conducted, only one of three proposed schools has been upgraded so far. Officials confirm proposals are with the state government, awaiting official orders for GHS Veerapur and GHS Devikoppa.
