The Indian government has set a foodgrain production target of 373 million tonnes for the 2026-27 crop year, a slight reduction from the previous year's output. Agriculture Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan stated the target considers feedback from states and aims to manage cropping patterns effectively. The Rabi foodgrain target is set at 177.72 million tonnes, higher than last year's actual output, with wheat being the primary crop.
