Mumbai Freeway Extension Work Begins With 90-Tonne Segment

The Mumbai Metropolitan Region Development Authority has commenced superstructure work on the 13.9-km Elevated Eastern Freeway Extension. The first precast segment, weighing over 90 tonnes, was launched over the Eastern Express Highway using a large mechanised gantry. This marks a transition from foundation work to erecting the elevated corridor, which aims to connect Thane and Ghatkopar. The project utilizes advanced techniques to minimize traffic disruption during construction. Upon completion, the freeway is expected to significantly reduce travel time between Thane and Mumbai, easing congestion.

मुंबई मेट्रोपॉलिटन रीजन डेवलपमेंट अथॉरिटी ने 13.9 किमी लंबे एलिवेटेड ईस्टर्न फ्रीवे एक्सटेंशन पर सुपरस्ट्रक्चर का काम शुरू कर दिया है। 90 टन से ज़्यादा वज़नी पहला प्रीकास्ट सेगमेंट एक बड़े मशीनीकृत गैन्ट्री का इस्तेमाल करके ईस्टर्न एक्सप्रेस हाईवे के ऊपर लॉन्च किया गया। यह नींव के काम से एलिवेटेड कॉरिडोर के निर्माण की ओर एक बदलाव का प्रतीक है, जिसका लक्ष्य ठाणे और घाटकोपर को जोड़ना है। इस प्रोजेक्ट में निर्माण के दौरान ट्रैफिक जाम को कम करने के लिए एडवांस्ड तकनीकों का इस्तेमाल किया जा रहा है। पूरा होने पर, फ्रीवे से ठाणे और मुंबई के बीच यात्रा के समय में काफी कमी आने और भीड़भाड़ कम होने की उम्मीद है।
