China has strongly opposed India's decision to assign standardised names to 28 strategic locations and geographical features in Ladakh. Foreign Ministry spokesperson Mao Ning stated that China has never recognised the 'Union Territory of Ladakh' and considers the areas to belong to it. India formally identified these sites, including border friction points like Gogra and Hot Spring, on its official map to improve recognition and public awareness. China asserts that India's move is illegal and invalid, unable to alter the fact that these areas have always been Chinese territory.

चीन ने लद्दाख में 28 सामरिक स्थानों और भौगोलिक विशेषताओं को मानकीकृत नाम देने के भारत के फैसले का कड़ा विरोध किया है। विदेश मंत्रालय की प्रवक्ता माओ निंग ने कहा कि चीन ने कभी भी 'लद्दाख केंद्र शासित प्रदेश' को मान्यता नहीं दी है और इन क्षेत्रों को अपना मानता है। भारत ने पहचान और जन जागरूकता में सुधार के लिए आधिकारिक नक्शे पर गोगरा और हॉट स्प्रिंग जैसे सीमा विवाद वाले स्थानों सहित इन स्थलों की औपचारिक रूप से पहचान की। चीन का दावा है कि भारत का यह कदम अवैध और अमान्य है, और यह इस तथ्य को नहीं बदल सकता कि ये क्षेत्र हमेशा से चीनी क्षेत्र रहे हैं।
