Rural Auto Demand Strong Despite August Rains

Despite weak monsoon rains in August, demand for vehicles in rural India has remained robust. Overall two-wheeler production saw a significant increase of 15.2%. Scooters, which are generally more popular in urban areas, experienced faster domestic growth at 26.7% compared to motorcycles, which grew at 9.1%. However, motorcycle exports showed a strong performance, rising by 33.4%. This indicates resilience in rural consumer spending on automobiles, even amidst challenging weather conditions.
