He challenged them, stating he is ready for re-elections via ballot paper if Rahul Gandhi resigns his Lok Sabha seat and Congress-ruled states resign their governments. Sarma also targeted the governments of Kerala, Karnataka, and Telangana, claiming they too were formed through 'vote theft' during Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar's tenure. He defended the voter list revision process, calling it necessary to control demographic changes due to illegal migration.

असम के मुख्यमंत्री हिमंत बिस्वा सरमा ने मतदाता सूची में संशोधन और कथित वोटिंग में धांधली को लेकर कांग्रेस और राहुल गांधी पर तीखा हमला बोला है। उन्होंने उन्हें चुनौती देते हुए कहा कि अगर राहुल गांधी अपनी लोकसभा सीट से इस्तीफा दे दें और कांग्रेस शासित राज्य अपनी सरकारें गिरा दें तो वह बैलेट पेपर से दोबारा चुनाव कराने को तैयार हैं। सरमा ने केरल, कर्नाटक और तेलंगाना की सरकारों को भी निशाना बनाया और दावा किया कि ये सरकारें भी मुख्य चुनाव आयुक्त ज्ञान प्रकाश कुमार के कार्यकाल के दौरान 'वोट की चोरी' से बनी थीं। उन्होंने अवैध प्रवासन के कारण जनसांख्यिकीय परिवर्तनों को नियंत्रित करने के लिए मतदाता सूची संशोधन प्रक्रिया को आवश्यक बताया।
