This action follows his public criticism of the Punjab government regarding teacher vacancies and its education model. Maiserkhana had expressed frustration in a Facebook live video about unfilled posts, including in schools of eminence, and questioned the implementation of the government's 'Sikhya Kranti' programme. Education minister Harjot Singh Bains refuted his claims, stating most posts were filled, though he acknowledged some vacancies at a specific school.
