New Dinosaur Species, T. Rex Relative, Discovered After 100 Years

Times of India · science

Scientists have identified Invictibellatrix amberina, a new meat-eating dinosaur species that lived approximately 120 million years ago on England's Isle of Wight. This distant relative of T. rex was a nimble, three to four-meter-long predator with long, curved claws and strong arms, likely hunting smaller prey. The discovery marks the first megaraptoran dinosaur identified in Europe, raising questions about their ancient continental migration patterns. The fossil, collected in 1924, had been stored in a museum drawer for decades before modern technology allowed for its re-examination and classification.
