Xpeng Plans Tech Sharing With Automakers

Chinese EV maker Xpeng is looking to license its technology to foreign automakers beyond its partner Volkswagen, seeking new revenue streams. The company plans to offer its electrical architecture, AI chips, and driver-assistance software to interested firms. This move builds on Xpeng's experience with Volkswagen, which began in July 2023. The partnership has already boosted Xpeng's revenue from technology services, which have higher margins than vehicle sales, as the company expands into.
