Japanese Prime Minister Sanae Takaichi has ignited a debate on gender roles and work-life balance after stating that household chores and makeup add three to four hours to her workday compared to male predecessors. She described morning routines including dishes and applying makeup as time-consuming. Takaichi also mentioned sleeping only zero to three hours nightly due to official duties and homemaking.
