Farmers' Blockade on NH48 Enters Second Day, Commuters Advised to Avoid Highway
Times of India · india
Commuters travelling between Pune and Bengaluru have been advised to avoid National Highway 48 due to a farmers' blockade near Kognoli on the Maharashtra-Karnataka border. The disruption, which began on Wednesday, has entered its second day with no response from the central government. Heavy vehicles are stranded, and authorities suggest alternate routes for travellers heading to Belagavi. The protest, led by Swabhimani Shetkari Sanghatana and Rayat Sangha, demands a sugar MSP of Rs 50 per kg and an ethanol procurement price of Rs 70 per litre.
