The Madras High Court has granted permanent custody of a minor child to the mother, ruling that the father is unfit to be a guardian. The court noted that the father had disowned his child by posting a matrimonial advertisement claiming to be a childless divorcee. This advertisement demonstrated his lack of interest in the child's welfare. Consequently, the mother has been permitted to take the child to Canada, where she resides and is financially stable. The father had not contested the mother's plea for guardianship.

मद्रास हाई कोर्ट ने एक नाबालिग बच्चे की स्थायी कस्टडी माँ को सौंप दी है। कोर्ट ने कहा कि पिता बच्चे का अभिभावक बनने के लायक नहीं है। कोर्ट ने पाया कि पिता ने खुद को 'बिना बच्चे वाला तलाकशुदा' बताकर मैट्रिमोनियल विज्ञापन पोस्ट करके अपने बच्चे को त्याग दिया था। इस विज्ञापन से बच्चे के कल्याण में उसकी रुचि की कमी साफ दिखी। इसलिए, माँ को बच्चे को कनाडा ले जाने की इजाजत मिल गई है, जहाँ वह रहती है और आर्थिक रूप से स्थिर है। पिता ने माँ की कस्टडी की अर्जी का विरोध नहीं किया था।
