12% Streetlights Faulty on UP Gate-Dasna DME Stretch

Approximately 12% of streetlights on the 19-km UP Gate-to-Dasna stretch of the Delhi-Meerut Expressway (DME) are non-functional, according to National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) data. Out of 2,695 installed lights, 318 are faulty on this specific section, while lights on other DME stretches are working. An RTI query revealed 96 complaints about faulty lights on this stretch over two years. Despite knowing about the issues, NHAI stated that rectifying lights is a dynamic process. This concern arises amid a high number of accidents on NH-9 and DME.

दिल्ली-मेरठ एक्सप्रेसवे (डीएमई) के 19 किलोमीटर लंबे यूपी गेट से डासना तक के हिस्से में लगभग 12% स्ट्रीटलाइटें काम नहीं कर रही हैं, यह जानकारी नेशनल हाईवे अथॉरिटी ऑफ इंडिया (एनएचएआई) के आंकड़ों से मिली है। कुल 2,695 लाइटों में से इस खास हिस्से पर 318 लाइटें खराब हैं, जबकि डीएमई के दूसरे हिस्सों की लाइटें ठीक काम कर रही हैं। एक आरटीआई सवाल के जवाब में पता चला कि पिछले दो सालों में इस स्ट्रेच पर खराब लाइटों को लेकर 96 शिकायतें आई थीं। इन समस्याओं के बारे में पता होने के बावजूद, एनएचएआई ने कहा कि लाइटों को ठीक करना एक लगातार चलने वाली प्रक्रिया है।
