Bengal Report Calls 1993 Firing Worse Than Jallianwala

A commission report tabled in the West Bengal assembly has described the 1993 police firing on a rally led by Mamata Banerjee as unnecessary and worse than the Jallianwala Bagh massacre. The report recommended compensation of Rs 25 lakh for each bereaved family, a decision the Chief Minister announced the government would implement.

पश्चिम बंगाल विधानसभा में पेश की गई एक रिपोर्ट में 1993 में ममता बनर्जी की रैली पर हुई पुलिस फायरिंग को जलियांवाला बाग हत्याकांड से भी बदतर और अनावश्यक बताया गया है। रिपोर्ट में पीड़ित परिवारों को 25 लाख रुपये का मुआवजा देने की सिफारिश की गई है। मुख्यमंत्री ने घोषणा की है कि सरकार इस फैसले को लागू करेगी।
