Delhi's Food Safety Department has identified significant hygiene lapses at sweet manufacturing units across the city during pre-festive season inspections. Officials reported finding insects in storage areas, inadequate pest control measures, and cobwebs on chimneys. Violations also included open dustbins and employees handling food without gloves. Samples of various sweets and food items were collected for laboratory testing to ensure compliance with safety standards. Chief Minister Rekha Gupta emphasized the importance of hygiene for public health during festivals.

त्योहारी सीजन से पहले दिल्ली के खाद्य सुरक्षा विभाग ने शहर भर की मिठाई बनाने वाली इकाइयों में बड़े पैमाने पर स्वच्छता की खामियां पाई हैं। अधिकारियों ने बताया कि भंडारण क्षेत्रों में कीड़े, कीट नियंत्रण के अपर्याप्त उपाय और चिमनियों पर जाले मिले। नियमों का उल्लंघन करने वालों में खुले कूड़ेदान और बिना दस्ताने के खाना संभालने वाले कर्मचारी भी शामिल थे। सुरक्षा मानकों का अनुपालन सुनिश्चित करने के लिए विभिन्न मिठाइयों और खाद्य पदार्थों के नमूने प्रयोगशाला परीक्षण के लिए एकत्र किए गए। मुख्यमंत्री रेखा गुप्ता ने त्योहारों के दौरान सार्वजनिक स्वास्थ्य के लिए स्वच्छता के महत्व पर जोर दिया।
