Kejriwal had urged youngsters to join the demonstration demanding the resignation of Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar over alleged "vote theft." AAP's Delhi unit president Bharadwaj stated that the heavy security deployment was creating an atmosphere of fear, hindering a non-violent protest. Thousands of security personnel were deployed across central Delhi, and 45 Delhi Metro stations shut entry and exit points.
