Man Held With Cannabis Candies In Kozhikode, Targeting Students

A special squad of the Excise department in Kozhikode has arrested a 31-year-old man from Uttar Pradesh for allegedly smuggling a large quantity of cannabis-infused candies. Officials intercepted the accused, identified as Pintu, and seized 872 grams of the candies, which were concealed under his scooter's seat. Preliminary investigations suggest the plan was to distribute these candies near schools and colleges to target students and small-scale vendors. The department has expanded its investigation to identify accomplices and is urging school authorities to strengthen monitoring to curb drug trafficking.
