Sebi Allows REITs, InvITs to Raise Funds Overseas Via Depository Receipts
Economic Times Markets · stocks
The Securities and Exchange Board of India (Sebi) has introduced frameworks enabling Real Estate Investment Trusts (REITs) and Infrastructure Investment Trusts (InvITs) to issue depository receipts (DRs). This allows these trusts to access overseas investors through international exchanges located in GIFT City. REITs and InvITs can issue fresh units or transfer existing ones for DR issuance, which will be denominated in foreign currency. These receipts can be listed on India International Exchange and NSE International Exchange within the IFSC.
