NATO Officer Suspended Over Tinder Romance Fears

A Spanish naval commander was removed from his NATO post in the UK and had his security clearance suspended due to concerns over his relationship with a woman suspected of spying for Russia. The officer met Janina White, a US-Polish dual national born in the Soviet Union, on Tinder in October 2024. NATO and Spanish authorities investigated the relationship, leading to the suspension of his clearance and his return to Spain in summer 2025.
