Rare Venomous Sea Snake Sighted in California
Times of India - India · india
A yellow-bellied sea snake, a venomous species, has washed ashore on a California beach for the first time since 2018. The rare sighting occurred at Crystal Cove in Orange County. Scientists are interested because these ocean-dwelling reptiles are seldom seen this far north. Experts suggest warm Pacific waters and shifting ocean currents may have brought the snake to Southern California. While venomous, it poses no danger if left alone.
