UAS-B to Launch New Drought-Resistant Maize, Ragi, and Amaranth Varieties

The University of Agricultural Sciences Bengaluru (UAS-B) will introduce three new crop varieties at the Krishi Mela on November 13. These include MAH-20-45 maize, which is high-yielding and disease-tolerant, suitable for drought conditions. Ragi GPU-101 offers an 18% yield increase over current varieties and resistance to Blast disease. Grain amaranth KBGA-18 is a protein-rich option that can be mixed with ragi flour. The event will also feature a workshop on drought management techniques.

UAS-B लाएगा सूखे को मात देने वाली मक्का, रागी और चौलाई की नई किस्में 13 नवंबर को कृषि मेले में होगा लॉन्च

यूनिवर्सिटी ऑफ एग्रीकल्चरल साइंसेज बेंगलुरु (UAS-B) 13 नवंबर को कृषि मेले में तीन नई फसल किस्में पेश करेगा। इनमें MAH-20-45 मक्का शामिल है, जो ज़्यादा उपज देने वाली और बीमारी प्रतिरोधी है, सूखे के लिए उपयुक्त है। रागी GPU-101 मौजूदा किस्मों की तुलना में 18% ज़्यादा उपज और ब्लास्ट रोग से बचाव देता है। अनाज चौलाई KBGA-18 प्रोटीन से भरपूर विकल्प है जिसे रागी के आटे में मिलाया जा सकता है। इस कार्यक्रम में सूखे से निपटने की तकनीकों पर एक कार्यशाला भी होगी।
