चेन्नई में भारी बारिश से स्कूल बंद 10 सेमी से ज़्यादा बारिश दर्ज

रात भर हुई भारी बारिश ने चेन्नई और उसके पड़ोसी जिलों को भिगो दिया है, जिसके चलते अधिकारियों ने बुधवार को चेन्नई, तिरुवल्लूर, कांचीपुरम और चेंगलपट्टू में स्कूलों में छुट्टी घोषित कर दी है। सुबह 6 बजे तक मीनांबक्कम और नंगमबक्कम के मौसम स्टेशनों पर 10 सेमी से ज़्यादा बारिश दर्ज की गई। यह एहतियाती कदम आगे और भारी बारिश की आशंकाओं और बंगाल की खाड़ी में कम दबाव वाले क्षेत्र के संभावित विकास के बीच उठाया गया है। यह बारिश का दौर जारी रहने की उम्मीद है। छुट्टी की इस घोषणा से कुछ सरकारी स्कूल के रसोईघरों में नाश्ते की तैयारी में बाधा आई।
