World Armwrestling Championship Inaugurated in Delhi by Union Ministers

The 47th World Armwrestling and 28th World Para Armwrestling Championship 2026 commenced in New Delhi on Thursday, October 29. Union minister Kiren Rijiju and former sports minister Anurag Singh Thakur officially opened the event. India is hosting this championship for the first time, with over 1,700 participants from more than 60 countries attending. The competition, organised by the People’s Armwrestling Federation of India, will continue until November 7. This marks a significant moment for the sport in the country.

47वीं विश्व आर्म रेसलिंग और 28वीं विश्व पैरा आर्म रेसलिंग चैंपियनशिप 2026 का गुरुवार, 29 अक्टूबर को नई दिल्ली में शुभारंभ हुआ। केंद्रीय मंत्री किरेन रिजिजू और पूर्व खेल मंत्री अनुराग सिंह ठाकुर ने आधिकारिक तौर पर इस आयोजन का उद्घाटन किया। भारत पहली बार इस चैंपियनशिप की मेजबानी कर रहा है, जिसमें 60 से अधिक देशों के 1,700 से अधिक प्रतिभागी भाग ले रहे हैं। पीपल्स आर्म रेसलिंग फेडरेशन ऑफ इंडिया द्वारा आयोजित यह प्रतियोगिता 7 नवंबर तक चलेगी। यह देश में इस खेल के लिए एक महत्वपूर्ण क्षण है।
