A fire that killed four soldiers at a Canadian military base was sparked by an exercise using live grenades, a military official stated. The blaze broke out on a grenade launcher range during military exercises on Saturday, with high winds propelling it across the Canadian Forces Base Wainwright in Alberta. Due to the fire being in a permanent danger area, firefighters could not directly combat it. The incident, which also injured 39 soldiers, is one of the worst peacetime tragedies for Canada's military.
