Kerala HC Admits State Appeal Against Order Quashing Police Association Reorganisation

The Kerala High Court has admitted the State government's appeal against a Single Judge's order that had quashed the reorganisation of police associations. The Single Bench had allowed a petition challenging the restructuring of three police associations, which split members and assets of one between two others. The State government argued that the restructuring was necessary as the existing association structure no longer reflected the current service conditions and recruitment methods. The government contended that the police chief, empowered to grant recognition, could also restructure associations.

केरल हाई कोर्ट ने पुलिस एसोसिएशन के पुनर्गठन को रद्द करने वाले सिंगल जज के आदेश के खिलाफ राज्य सरकार की अपील स्वीकार कर ली है। सिंगल बेंच ने तीन पुलिस एसोसिएशनों के पुनर्गठन को चुनौती देने वाली याचिका की अनुमति दी थी, जिसमें एक के सदस्यों और संपत्तियों को दो अन्य में विभाजित किया गया था। राज्य सरकार ने तर्क दिया कि पुनर्गठन आवश्यक था क्योंकि मौजूदा एसोसिएशन संरचना अब सेवा की वर्तमान शर्तों और भर्ती विधियों को प्रतिबिंबित नहीं करती थी। सरकार का तर्क था कि मान्यता देने के लिए सशक्त पुलिस प्रमुख एसोसिएशनों का पुनर्गठन भी कर सकते थे।
