Sebi Bars EKI Energy, MD From Securities Market Over Financial Misrepresentation

Markets regulator Sebi has barred EKI Energy Services Ltd and its Managing Director Manish Kumar Dabkara from the securities market for two and 12 months, respectively. The company and its directors were penalised for misrepresenting financial statements and diverting funds totalling ₹197.04 crore. EKI prematurely recognised revenue and overstated expenses, leading to a misrepresentation of profits. Sebi also imposed monetary penalties totalling ₹88 lakh on the company and individuals involved, directing Dabkara to recoup diverted funds.
