The Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation's public health laboratory has declared two samples of tomato ketchup substitute products unsafe for consumption. Tests revealed the presence of synthetic colours like Sunset Yellow and Ponceau 4R, along with starch. Officials stated that consuming these products poses a risk to public health and that police cases will be registered against manufacturers. The seized stock will be destroyed, and operators will face charges under the Food Safety and Standards Act. This action is part of intensified inspections ahead of Diwali.

अहमदाबाद म्युनिसिपल कॉर्पोरेशन की पब्लिक हेल्थ लैब ने टोमैटो केचप के विकल्प वाले दो सैंपल को उपभोग के लिए असुरक्षित घोषित किया है। जांच में सनसेट येलो और पोंस्यू 4R जैसे सिंथेटिक रंगों के साथ स्टार्च की मौजूदगी का पता चला। अधिकारियों ने बताया कि इन उत्पादों का सेवन सार्वजनिक स्वास्थ्य के लिए जोखिम भरा है और निर्माताओं के खिलाफ पुलिस केस दर्ज किए जाएंगे। जब्त स्टॉक को नष्ट कर दिया जाएगा और फूड सेफ्टी एंड स्टैंडर्ड्स एक्ट के तहत ऑपरेटरों पर आरोप लगेंगे। यह कार्रवाई दिवाली से पहले तेज की गई जांच का हिस्सा है।
